Anti-Phishing Tip #4: Check for Trash Before the Slash!
Verify Before Entering Credentials
THE TRAP: You are asked to enter your ISD518 login and password on what looks like a standard Worthington Schools District authentication page.
YOUR DEFENSE:
Before submitting any information, make sure the site’s URL begins with “https” and there should be a closed lock icon near the address bar. Check for the site’s security certificate as well.
Example: “https: //www.isd518.net/” ISD518 authentication pages will never have anything phishy BEFORE the single slash.
If you get a message stating a certain website may contain malicious files, do not open the website. Never download files from suspicious emails or websites.
Remember: Only You can Protect your Password!
Not sure if it’s a phish? Drop us a line. Send email to Technology@isd518.net.
