Dennis Burns – WHS Class of 1956

Football – 3 years; All-state Honorable Mention ‘56; Played in the North-South All Star game; Co-captain ‘56

Track – 3 years; Best Discus throw of 135’1”; Shot Put 46’10” (school record for 10 years)

College – Worthington Junior College,Football ‘57; Rochester JC, Track ‘58; Mankato State, Football ’61-62
University of Minnesota 62-64

Other – Served in the United States Army from 59-61 3rd Armored Division; Soldier of the Month Oct. 1960

Dennis and his wife, Mary Ellen, have 3 children: Michael, Stephen, and Mark, and one grandson, Brian.  Dennis is retired for the St. Paul Insurance Company. He was inducted into the Trojan Hall of Fame in 2004.
