About Our Early Childhood Family Education Teachers
Morgan Livingston
Hello! My name is Morgan Livingston, and I live in Round Lake with my husband, Wyatt, and our goldendoodle, Brooks. In 2021, I graduated from South Dakota State University with my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I then began my career as a preschool teacher for District 518 in Community Education. My favorite part about my job is getting to see the growth and progress that the preschoolers make from when they start until when they head to kindergarten. In my free time, I enjoy sewing, golfing, camping, and spending time with Wyatt and Brooks.
Alex Johnson
Hello there. My name is Alex D. Johnson. I am an Early Childhood teacher at Community EdMs Knuthucation. I work in the School Readiness Program in District 518. I achieved my Associate’s Degree in Child Development from South Central College’s North Mankato Campus, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Minnesota State University in May 2020. I am in my second year of my career, as well as my second year of teaching in Worthington. I am a middle child, I love to cook and experiment with baking and food, and I have a passion for Theatre. However, with all of these fun activities, I am still an introvert at heart. I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for all of my peers and students in the district.
Lori Morrow
Hi, my name is Lori Morrow and I am an Early Childhood Teacher for District 518. I graduated from the University of Sioux Falls with a BA in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I first taught in Ellsworth MN in fifth and first grade. Then I took some time off to be a mom to my 3 daughters. During that time I attended ECFE with them. When they all went on to school I stayed and became the ECFE teacher and then added Even Start and School Readiness. My passion is to work with young children and their parents and to help make their first school experience fun and positive. Even though my students think I live at school, I do find time for traveling, bicycling, camping and spending time with my family.
Cassie Snyders
Hello! My name is Mrs. Snyders. I have been working with children since 2004. I ran a home daycare for many years. I have also been a special ed para and substitute teacher in the Luverne school district over the past few years. I recently completed my Masters Degree at Bethel University in St. Paul Minnesota. I love teaching young students and watching them as they learn, grow, and develop throughout the school year. In my spare time I enjoy camping with my family or watching my kids play baseball and flag football.
Madeline Vander Wal
Hello, I am Madeline Vander Wal. I am a preschool teacher in District #518.
I am a graduate from Sioux Falls University with a BA in Social Work and licensed in Early Childhood Education from SMSU. I am originally from Yorkville, IL and moved to Sioux Falls. In 1989, my husband transplanted me to the Slayton area. I taught ECFE in Pipestone and for 20+ years I subbed in various districts. My greatest enjoyment is watching students respond, explore and expand their knowledge of the world around them.

I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City Iowa with a BA degree in Christian Education and minored in psychology. I’ve been a Sunday school teacher and youth worker. I have an LPN license and worked for 25 years as a nurse in a pediatric clinic. Currently, I’m working for my teaching degree in Early Childhood Education. My 5 kids grew up in this district and I believe that learning is a life long endeavor.
