About Our 4th Grade Teachers
Ms. Doeden
Hi, my name is Ms. Doeden and I teach fourth grade at the Intermediate School . I have lived in Slayton, MN, all my life and currently still reside there today. I graduated from Murray County Central in Slayton in 2013. After high school, I attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education in 2016. My favorite things about teaching are making connections with my students, creating a classroom community, and collaborating with other educators. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, anything outdoors, playing volleyball, and raising cattle with my brother. I am truly excited to be a part of District 518!
Ms. Esselink
Hello, my name is Ms. Esselink. I grew up in Hills, Minnesota and graduated from high school in 2015. After graduating from Hills, I attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, Minnesota. In the spring of 2019, I graduated from SMSU with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I started my journey at Prairie Elementary in the fall of 2019. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family, spending time at the lake, reading, and helping out on the farm.
Mrs. Fletcher
My name is Mrs. Fletcher. I currently teach 4th grade. I am an advisor for the Intermediate Science Fair this year. I graduated from Worthington High School in 2002. After high school, I attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN where I received by Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis of Middle School Social Studies. I also attended St. Mary’s University of Minnesota where I received my master’s degree in Education. I started working for District 518 in 2008 and have taught 4th grade for all the years I have been here.
I love everything about teaching! I enjoy seeing student’s faces light up when they finally understand something and making learning fun.
An interesting fact about me was that I was born in San Jose, California.
Mrs. Kerkaert
I am Mrs. Kerkaert and teach 4th grade at Intermediate School. I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University and received my Master’s Degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I began teaching in 2006. What I enjoy about teaching is the opportunity to collaborate with other educators and the opportunity to continue my own learning. The biggest reward is working with children and seeing them reach their hopes and dreams. I grew up in Worthington and attended District 518. I am proud to be a part of this great community!
Mrs. Marquardt
My name is Mrs. Marquardt, but to my students I am Mrs. M. I am a part of our awesome fourth grade team at Intermediate School. I started my teaching career in Worthington in 2000. I taught 5th grade for 2 years, 3rd grade for 11 years and now 4th grade.
My favorite part of teaching is combining fun with learning, creating a school family, and getting to know my kiddos. Helping children learn and grow academically and socially is an amazing experience. I love being a part of their learning journey.
My husband is a teacher at Prairie Elementary. We have five children. Payton, twin boys Benjamin and Braddock, a daughter Adalynn and our youngest son Jackson. I love to write, play volleyball and spend time with my family and friends.
Ms. Poppe
I am Ms. Poppe and I currently teach 4th grade at Intermediate School. I graduated from Southwest Star Concept School in Okabena, MN in 2014. After high school, I attended Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall, MN where I obtained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 2018. I completed my student teaching here at Prairie in the 4th Grade. My favorite part about teaching is getting to know the students and watching them grow throughout the year! I am excited to be a part of District 518!
Ms. Rosales
Hi! My name is Ms. Rosales. I am a 4th grade teacher here at the Intermediate School! I have lived in Adrian all my life and still reside there today! I graduated from Adrian High School in 2013. After high school I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from Southwest Minnesota State University in December 2018. I completed my student teaching at Park Elementary in Hutchinson, MN. My favorite things about teaching are making connections with students, establishing a strong classroom community, and watching students grow throughout the year! When I’m not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, watching movies, and being outdoors!
Mrs. Sinnamon
My name is Mrs. Sinnamon and I currently teach 4th grade at the Intermediate School. I graduated from Worthington High School in 2013. I then attended Minnesota State University, Mankato, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and received a STEM endorsement. I completed my student teaching at Wilson Elementary in Owatonna, MN. My favorite part about being an educator is the opportunity to create a collaborative classroom community with my kiddos each year! I am so excited to be back in district 518!
Ms. Waldner
I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University (Marshall MN) with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement and a minor in Psychology. I have two children, Logan and Sarah and one grandchild ( Grayson Matthew). For the last 28 years I have been the operating manager for Schaap Moving & Storage Co.
