Welcome to 5th Grade

Fifth grade students receive the following core classes: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. Math consists of computing math facts, solving equations, and problem solving. Writing, grammar, and literature are the three main topics of discussion during Reading and Language Arts. In Science, the curriculum covers four main topics: Engineering and Technology, Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science. All of these skills in math, reading, and science are important for the MCA tests taken in the spring. In Social Studies, history up until the American Revolution is covered.
