Mrs. Gerdes

I am thrilled to serve as the School Counselor at Worthington Intermediate, where I have the privilege of supporting students’ academic, emotional, and social growth. With over a decade of experience in school counseling, I have had the opportunity to work with students from PreK through 12th grade, gaining a deep understanding of their unique needs at every stage of development.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services from Iowa State University and went on to complete my master’s in School Counseling at Buena Vista University. Since 2011, I’ve been dedicated to empowering students through individual counseling, small group sessions, and classroom lessons focused on topics such as self-esteem, stress management, and conflict resolution.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, traveling to new destinations, and curling up with a good book.
