Credit Recovery
The Learning Center is an alternative model that provides a variety of educational programs leading to a high school diploma.
Each school year students from District 518 and other area districts are enrolled in one of three diploma-granting programs.
Who qualifies for Credit Recovery at the Learning Center?
- Learners who have fallen behind in making progress toward high school graduation
- Learners who benefit from a small school setting that can fit their individual needs
- Learners who have dropped out of school and want to return to complete their high school education
Day Classes– 8:00 a.m. – 2:47 p.m. The School Day Program provides a positive, safe and structured learning environment with block scheduling.
Night Classes– 3:00 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. Students may be enrolled in the Learning Center and another school at the same time. Dual learners attend Learning Center classes after 3:30 p.m. Note: Both day and night classes follow our district Calendar
Summer School– Month of June (A student can earn up to 1.5 credits). High school summer school gives students the opportunity to make up missed credits from the regular school year in core academic areas. Course offerings are dependent upon the number of students enrolled. To receive credit for a class, students must attend all class sessions and complete all homework assignments. Students and families are responsible for transportation to and from classes.
The Learning Center is dedicated to meeting your needs in a caring, supportive learning environment.
