Woods
One Term Grades 10, 11, 12 Elective
This course will familiarize the student with basic planning and construction in woodworking. Good safety practices will be studied. Topics covered will include: furniture joinery, kinds, types and uses of various woods, identity and uses of various hand tools and power equipment, planning procedures, board feet problems, and bill of materials for personal products. Required projects include: chopping block, lathe turning and dovetail box. No prerequisite
