One Term       Grades 9, 10, 11, 12         Elective

Students will explore the world of business through topics that include finance, management, ethics, legal forms of business and operations as well as marketing. Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of contemporary concepts and basic principles of effective business practices. Through an introduction to business foundations in our free-market system students will develop a comprehensive view of business trends, the role of government, society, and our global economy that all contribute to successful business operations. Current industry issues will provide insights for case studies and entrepreneurial analytics. Students will gain insights on consumer buying decisions, human resources, and financial management. Career pathway preparation includes: Retail Manager and Department Manager. This course may include participation in a Business Professionals of America (BPA) student organization.
