Living on your own involves many informed decisions. This Personal Finance course is designed to create confident consumers while understanding the economic system and making the most of the opportunities in a market economy. Decision making and comparing alternatives, handling money wisely, balancing a checking account, investing, purchasing, and maintaining a car, wardrobe, and home, cooking efficient and healthy meals, preparing for a job interview, budgeting and insurance are all wrapped up into real life simulation. Field trips and guest speakers make this course a “real world” experience. This is a great class if you are moving out to go to college or plan to be on your own.
