Prerequisite: Earth and Space Science or Physical Science A
In Geology, students will use scientific methods to research the current state of planet Earth and make predictions about its past and evolution through time. Students will engage in rock and mineral identification, describing rock forming processes, reading, interpreting, and producing maps, explaining geologic events through observation, studying geomorphic features such as rivers, glaciers, volcanoes, deserts, and beaches, and analyzing fossils and rock formations as evidence of Earth’s past. These topics will be explored through laboratory hands-on and field experiences while applying basic science skills.
