World History A and B together provide a comprehensive exploration of the key people, events, and developments that shaped the world from 3500 B.C. to the mid-1900s.
In World History A, students will study ancient civilizations, including Mesopotamia, Greece, and Rome, the rise of major religions, the growth of eastern and western empires, and transformative events such as the Crusades and the 100 Years’ War. Emphasis is placed on understanding the foundations of global cultures and trade networks that connect the ancient world.
In World History B, the focus shifts to the early modern and modern eras, covering the Age of Exploration, the global impacts of the Atlantic Slave Trade, the Enlightenment, and revolutionary movements. Students will also explore the Industrial Revolution, the rise of democracy, imperialism, nationalism, and the complex legacies of colonization. Connections between historical events and the modern world are emphasized throughout the course.
