WHS Student Services
Hello from the Counselors at WHS!
High School is an exciting and hopeful time. It is the final transition into adulthood and the world of work as students begin separating from parents and exploring and defining their independence. Students start deciding who they are, what they are good at, and what they will do when they graduate. High school counselors are professional educators who understand and respond to those challenges. School counselors do not work alone, rather they work with teachers/school staff, parents, community members, and administrators in making sure students are successful. The work of the school counselor is aligned with the school’s mission to support academic achievement of all students as they prepare for the ever-changing world of the 21st Century. The school counselor fosters the academic, personal/social, and career development of all students. Our ultimate goal is to help students achieve personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and realize full potential to become productive members of society.
